OwnerRoundtable Education: CEPAs Teaching Owners about Managing Value Coast-to-Coast

Creating Lasting Change: The Advantages of Peer Learning

This week, EPI hosted another executive strategy discovery training for the newest CEPAs a part of the Owner Engagement Membership, an elite group of advisors who conduct education and lead owner peer learning groups in regions across the country. During this two-day session, CEO Christopher Snider and nationally-recognized collaborator Amy Wirtz shared expertise and experiences while the group creatively brainstormed and outlined plans to help grow transferrable value and accelerate exit readiness in the lower middle market.

OwnerRoundtable training is much more than learning how to leverage new content and create an event cadence for distributing new information to owners. In fact, one of the major topics emphasized throughout training is the ability to create a safe, comfortable environment for peer learning. The newest OEM advisors learned the mechanics and strategies on how to facilitate and create an action-creating zone for CEOs and reviewed proven interpersonal strategies, including attention-grabbing public speaking tactics and trust-provoking conversation skills.

With the successful completion of the most recent EPI Owner Engagement Discovery training, we are proud to announce that exit planning-centric owner education is accessible coast-to-coast. “This Methodology is Going to Supercharge My Practice!” -Justin Goodbread, CEPA, CFP®

Official ‘Exit Planning’ Definition: Exit planning combines the plan, concept, effort, and process into a clear, simple strategy to build a business that is transferable through strong human, structural, customer, and social capital. The future of the business owner, his/her family, and the business itself are addressed by exit planning through creating value today.

Exit planning is not just a plan (or a keyed-in report to print out for an owner). It is a strategy rooted in execution that grows value while expanding options so that an owner can transition the business on his/her terms when they are ready. It aligns the business, personal, and financial needs of the owner. Good exit planning utilizes the Value Acceleration Methodology™ to move clients through discovery, prepare, and decide gates. Certified Exit Planning Advisors (CEPA) educate the owner on all of the exit options and enters an engagement with an exit-option-agnostic perspective as to truly serve the business owner’s diverse needs. CEPAs collaborate with a seasoned, multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support the success of the business owner and use each other’s specialties and expertise to the benefit of the project.
