Lending- Make or Break of Business Transitions

Many of the business transition paths available to business owners are dependent upon debt financing. Understanding how a banker views the debt capacity of a business is critical in evaluating a business owner’s options. ESOPs, recapitalizations, buying out partners, management buy-outs all generally require financing. In this interactive session, two banking professionals will discuss their perspectives on lending to businesses to facilitate business transition goals.

  • Understand how a lender evaluates a businesses’ lending capacity
  • Learn how lenders approach different types of transition options such as ESOPs, Leveraged Buy Outs, etc.
  • Learn about the current lending market, regulatory climate and trends

Meet Raymond Shrader.

A native Atlantan, Ray is a business banking leader with over fifteen years. As Fifth Third’s Vice President and Georgia Business Banking Market Manager, Ray leads a team of bankers who serve all of Georgia, but primarily, metro Atlanta and its surrounding suburbs. He takes a consultative approach to guide his relationship managers in the delivery of financial solutions for clients with revenues typically between $2MM and $20MM with borrowing needs between $250M and $5MM.  Ray previously served as a vice president and commercial relationship manager working with clients between $10MM and $250MM in top line revenue. A graduate of Georgia State University and active community member, Ray resides in Brookhaven, GA with his wife and two children.  In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, hiking, golf, and most anything outdoors.
