A Note from the Expert: Stephen E. Capizzi is Founder and Managing Principal of Apex Exit Advisors™. While he has worked with a variety of business owner clients over the past 26 years in financial services, Steve specializes in providing comprehensive exit planning strategies for small to mid-size businesses and family-owned businesses. He has helped over a hundred entrepreneurs build value in their businesses, created strategic financial and transition plans, and executed the M&A selling process to maximize proceeds for clients.

Steve’s exit planning education and experience started in 1996 and over the years he has achieved the Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor designation through the elite organization: The Alliance for Merger and Acquisition Advisors. Currently, he is licensed as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER Practitioner™ (CFP®) through the CFP® Board of Standards and is also a member of the Exit Planning Institute®, the premier international organization for education and resources for the exit planning professional. He holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation, which fewer than 700 advisors hold nationwide.

Steve enjoys relationships with many professional organizations related to the financial services trade and has served in leadership roles such as President of the Financial Planning Association of Georgia. Currently, he serves as President of the Georgia Chapter of the Exit Planning Institute. These and other organizations have asked Steve to speak on the topic of Exit Planning for Business Owners.
