Lehigh Valley Summer Educational Event

Join the Lehigh Valley chapter for their Summer Educational Event featuring two topics and speakers.

Opening a Conversation Around Exit Planning

My objective is to teach how to engage in conversation with business owners about successfully exiting their business. Participants will learn how having a business strategy designed with their future transition as the goal, can create additional value in their business to be harvested at time of their exit.  While working on this business strategy most business owners will realize an increase of their net profit.  By showing business owners how this happens we can motivate business owners to take action now to begin an exit plan.

Learning Objectives:

The learning objective of my talk is to get the business owner talking about their personal and business financial needs in order to show them why having a business strategy designed with their future transition as the goal, will create additional value they can then take with them at time of exit.  And just may create the value they require to retire on their terms and not someone else’s.

How To Build an Advisory Board

Advisory boards can bring areas of specific expertise to a family business, and are nearly a must as the family business grows and is looking to hire top tier talent.  This round table discussion will discuss the difference between advisory boards and a board of directors, identifying the areas of expertise a business needs from its board members, and an overview of the recruiting process.

Learning Objectives:

  • Determining which type of board is right for your business
  • Who first, then what – core values and alignment to the strategic plan
  • Determining the business needs in terms of advisor experience and expertise and the recruiting process

EXIT PLANNING IS GOOD BUSINESS STRATEGY

The EPI Local Chapter is different than other groups because it brings together a diverse group of professionals from a wide range of specialties that can naturally work collaboratively on exit planning, succession planning, value growth, transaction or any engagement from both sides of the equation. The chapter meets regularly to network, reconnect, grow knowledge, and sharpen their skills with a common goal: Change the outcome for transitioning business owners. Make plans to join us for future events and connect with the local leadership by visiting www.EPILehighValley.org.
