Real Acquisitions of Minnesota

TWIN CITIES METRO AREA CHAPTER EVENT

Real Acquisitions of Minnesota

No, it’s not the latest reality tv show, it’s the latest EPI Chapter meeting topic! In a joint meeting with Club Entrepreneur, we’ll be going “behind the scenes” to talk about what really happens during an acquisition. We’ll be convening a panel of business owners and experts, some of whom have experienced both successful and unsuccessful acquisitions during their careers, to talk about the hands-on reality of buying another company. Many mergers and acquisitions are not successful, and we’ll be sharing a checklist of factors you’ll need to consider, including rationale, budgets, culture, staffing and more. For a real-world look into this issue, join Club E and moderator Julie Keyes, President of the Twin Cities EPI Chapter.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to vet possible acquisition candidates and not just from the numbers side of the equation.
  • Identify who the main advisers are when a business owner is in pursuit of buying another company and the roles they play.
  • Identify the obstacles that could derail a successful M & A Integration and what the key components are to a successful integration.
  • Learn the Due Diligence process of a Buy Side Transaction.

Meet the Presenters:

Hear from a panel of experts including John Long, Pat Rowan, Eddie Eames, Dean Willer and Jeff Porubcan, moderated by Club E and Julie Keyes.

Thank you to our sponsoring firms:

This meeting will be held at the Minneapolis Club.

EXIT PLANNING IS GOOD BUSINESS STRATEGY

The EPI Local Chapter is different than other groups because it brings together a diverse group of professionals from a wide range of specialties that can naturally work collaboratively on exit planning, succession planning, value growth, transaction or any engagement from both sides of the equation. The chapter meets regularly to network, reconnect, grow knowledge, and sharpen their skills with a common goal: Change the outcome for transitioning business owners. Make plans to join us for future events and connect with the local leadership by visiting www.EPITwinCities.org.
