ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Meet Micaela Weil:
Micaela originally hails from Denver, Colorado and has a B.S. in Marketing from the Heider College of Business at Creighton University. She has previous experience with tech start-ups, which has proven to be advantageous for working with many entrepreneurs who are selling their company. Micaela manages the process from start to end with Donor Advised Funds, specifically, quarterbacking the non-cash, complex asset transactions that the Community Foundation of Utah sees regularly. From the technical to the deeply personal, she is committed to working closely with each donor to accomplish their goals.
Micaela enjoys her home of Salt Lake City with love of the mountains, sunshine, and good-hearted people. She loves to ski, hike, bike, run, and fish.
Meet Derek Nunner:
Before joining the Community Foundation of Utah and after earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Skidmore College in upstate New York, Derek worked for over 7 years in the nonprofit sector. In particular, he worked in adaptive sports, leading programs that empower individuals with disabilities through outdoor challenges. Through leading community outreach initiatives and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, Derek learned the power and import of deep community connections. As the Community Partnership Manager at CFU, he seeks to build community rooted partnerships that foster cohesion and impact, sector and state wide.
When not engaging with CFU’s extensive community, Derek can be found chasing his wife in adventures of all sorts from seeking new backcountry ski lines, attempting to not fall off his mountain bike, traveling the world, and trying out the newest fusion recipe in their beloved kitchen.
