Businesses are complex organizations. Even if you’re in the right market and have a great product or service, the business might not be successful. Lack of alignment on core values, core focus, and long-term vision, coupled with problems in people, data, process and lack of execution on the vision can drag down most business. In addition, even if a business is successful, the business owner and leaders often aren’t leading the life that they desire. We’re bringing together a panel of business owners who have implemented EOS (the Entrepreneurial Operating System) into their businesses to hear how it has transformed their businesses and their lives.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn how implementing a business operating system can:
- Increase scalability

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Meet Mike Abercrombie:
Mike began his own journey as an entrepreneur when he co-founded a training company in 1993. As CEO, he grew the business with the help of his team to be an internationally recognized company.
- Over $20M in revenue
- 100+ instructors and staff
- Operations in the US and UK
Along his journey, Mike joined the Young President’s Organization (YPO) in 2000. While working closely with business leaders in YPO, he discovered a passion and talent for his own teaching and facilitation. As a result, Mike has been professionally delivering programs for YPO groups in the US and internationally since 2007.
In 2015, Mike sold his training business to focus on helping business leaders implement EOS® combining his business experience and love of teaching and group facilitation. His business background provides context for the power and application of the EOS® tools in an entrepreneurial company. Couple that with his 10 years of teaching and facilitating business executives, Mike is able to help his clients navigate the tough but powerful conversations needed to move their business forward. The result is an aligned vision, better execution, a healthier leadership team and organizational results.
Meet Kurt Luginbuhl:
Kurt Luginbuhl is the product of the San Gabriel Valley. He graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego with a degree in Philosophy and Theology and married his high school sweetheart Sonia in 2004. Their dream as a young couple was to work and live overseas and find a way to make the world better for those who are suffering most.
After exploring multiple options, they joined the Peace Corps and served as health educators in Madagascar in 2006
and 2007. This experience helped them realize how much they had going for us back home, and how much of an impact we could make from home, and upon their return, made the commitment to work for his family’s business indefinitely.
Kurt is now the President and part owner of Interior Services, a window covering sales and installation company providing draperies, blinds, and shades for commercial construction projects throughout LA and Orange Counties. His parents founded our business in 1983 when he was 1 year old and they are proud to be the leader in our industry in the Southern California region. He is most proud of the team they have built and their ability to identify, hire, train and retain great people and find out what their unique abilities are, and empower them to achieve beyond their expectations. Since he joined Interior Services full-time, for good, in 2007 they have grown 3 times in revenue and profit. Along the way they’ve have been a part of some incredible projects, working with the leading design and construction companies in our area and have emerged as the leader in interior shading’s most cutting-edge applications and technologies.
Sonia and Kurt have three children and live in Monrovia. Their daughter Sasha is 12 years old and is an incredible artist who exudes confidence and compassion. They also have two sons. Fischer will turn 10 in December and loves to read, skateboard, and play baseball. Francis is 6, has one of the biggest personalities ever, and works hard to keep up with his siblings.
Meet Barry Fay:
Barry is an entrepreneur. He has run multiple companies and consulted to others. He has always had a passion for helping businesses improve. “We put in too much time and effort to not get the results we want and deserve. As entrepreneurs, we have a greater obligation than just to our own families. When our businesses are successful, we are also helping all our employees, their families and the communities that we serve.”
Barry has worked for multinational companies like KPMG and Hines and has run Aqua-Flo Supply, McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams and Global Power Supply. Upon discovering EOS, he realized that he could pursue his true passion and purpose on a greater scale by helping companies align their vision, accelerate their growth and maximize the employee talent. By implementing EOS into many companies, his goal is to improve the lives of over 10,000 employees in the next 10 years.
Barry’s business background provides a great foundation for understanding the power and benefits of implementing EOS. Having seen many examples of both great and dysfunctional company cultures, he knows how to help leadership teams have the tough conversations needed to solve issues. The result is a shared vision with constant execution on that vision. This leads to greater performance, a more valuable company and it makes coming to work more enjoyable for everyone in the company!
Barry graduated from Notre Dame and received his MBA from UCLA. He lives in Santa Barbara and has four adult children.
