Exit Planning & Retirement Planning:

How They Intersect

TWIN CITIES METRO AREA CHAPTER EVENT

Exit Planning & Retirement Planning:
How They Intersect

A business owner spends decades investing in the business, and most likely will need the proceeds from the sale of their business to fund their retirement. How much do you need?  How long will it take?  Attend this session to learn how you get to your Freedom Point and how that is a critical aspect of your exit plan.

Learning Objectives:

  • The attendee will be able to better understand now retirement planning fits into exit planning and why that is important.
  • The attendee will understand the difference between NET and GROSS sale proceeds and how that makes a big difference in funding the business owner’s retirement
  • How to calculate the business owner’s “Freedom Point” so the owner knows how much the business needs to sell for, rather than accepting what he/she can get when selling.
  • What if a business owner gets to his/her Freedom Point before he/she is ready to exit? The attendee will learn the ways a business owner can reduce risk until exit.

EXIT PLANNING IS GOOD BUSINESS STRATEGY

The EPI Local Chapter is different than other groups because it brings together a diverse group of professionals from a wide range of specialties that can naturally work collaboratively on exit planning, succession planning, value growth, transaction or any engagement from both sides of the equation. The chapter meets regularly to network, reconnect, grow knowledge, and sharpen their skills with a common goal: Change the outcome for transitioning business owners.
