LOCAL LEADERSHIP

2023 Twin Cities Metro Area State of Owner Readiness

Recent results show that more than half of Minnesota State of Owner Readiness Survey respondents are 57 years or younger. This statistic is a stark shift from the 2017 Twin Cities Metro Area State of Owner Readiness’s results, which indicated that nearly 60% of owners were baby boomers. In 2023, 94% of surveyed business owners revealed that having a transition strategy was key for their futures and the future of their businesses. With a younger generation of business owners with their eyes on the horizon, Minnesota business owners are uniquely positioned to harvest wealth and build a strong foundation of exit planning knowledge. Dive deeper with key insights from our 2023 report.
