Mike Rudow, MBA, CFP®, AIF®, CEPA®, CFS, is a Partner and Wealth Advisor at Morton Wealth in Calabasas, California, where he specializes in helping business owners and affluent families turn complex financial lives into clear, actionable strategies. Drawing on deep experience in exit planning, he works closely with closely held business owners to de-risk and decentralize their companies, build transferable enterprise value, and align business outcomes with personal and family goals—particularly for owners who initially believe their businesses have little to no saleable value.
At Morton Wealth, Mike leads clients through holistic wealth management that integrates investment consulting, advanced tax and estate planning, retirement and cash flow planning, and thoughtful risk management. He has a particular focus on business exit and transition strategy, corporate retirement plans (defined benefit and defined contribution), and equity compensation planning for entrepreneurs and key executives. His approach emphasizes true diversification, including innovative alternative investments, with the goal of “empowering better investors” and helping clients get the most life out of their wealth.
Before joining Morton Wealth in 2021, Mike spent four years with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management as a Financial Advisor and Business Development Associate, where he concentrated on investment consulting, financial planning, and business development for entrepreneurial and high‑net‑worth clients. Earlier in his career, he worked in consulting roles in the FinTech, communications, and development technology sectors, giving him a practical understanding of the business owner’s journey from start-up through scale and exit. Mike originally launched his professional life in the health and fitness world—including roles as a head trainer and even a trapeze artist—before making a significant career transition into finance, a story that informs his empathy and relatability with clients navigating major life and career changes.
Mike holds an MBA in Financial Planning from California Lutheran University and a Post‑Baccalaureate Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from UCLA, built on a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Washington. He has earned multiple industry credentials, including Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®), Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), and Certified Fund Specialist (CFS), as well as FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations. His commitment to professional excellence and fiduciary responsibility is central to how he serves clients.
In addition to his advisory work, Mike is actively involved in the professional and local business community. He serves as Chapter President and Board Member of the Exit Planning Institute’s Conejo Valley Chapter, helping build a collaborative ecosystem of advisors focused on improving outcomes for business owners planning growth, transition, or exit. He also serves on the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and Audit Committee for Valley Community Healthcare, and is a Board Member with ACG 101 (Association for Corporate Growth 101 Corridor), reflecting his dedication to both community impact and middle‑market deal and advisory networks.
Known for being approachable, collaborative, and highly engaged, Mike is passionate about educating clients and professional partners through speaking, content, and events on topics such as business exits, equity compensation, tax‑efficient planning, and retirement income design. He brings the same energy and discipline that defined his fitness and coaching background to his advisory practice, partnering with clients to design and execute strategies that support the lives they want to live—now and through the transition beyond their businesses.
