I've spent my career helping organizations build enduring value and increasingly that work centers on one critical question: Is this business built to ultimately transfer?
As CEO & Lead Advisor at ExitSmarts, I work with business owners, founders, and their teams and advisors who are serious about what comes next, whether that's 18 months away or 10 years out. The best exits are engineered long before a transaction is on the table. That means building a business that runs well, scales without the owner at the center of everything, and is structured to attract the right internal or external buyers at the right value when the time comes. We help owners close value gaps, reduce operational dependency, strengthen the fundamentals that drive transferability, and execute transitions that reflect what they've built and what they want next.
My career path spans McKinsey strategy work, early-stage startup experience at ICO (in London and Miami), two decades of board governance including registered investment companies, and executive roles from strategy to marketing to CEO. I bring analytical rigor, leadership acumen, and genuine curiosity to every interaction.
I'm a CFA charterholder and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA). Before earning my MBA from Stanford GSB, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Computer Science from Texas A&M. I'm also a self-confessed nerd who believes in the magic of teams and strives to bring fun and a sense of humor to solve problems that matter and make a positive impact on profit and purpose.
Houston is home. When I'm not working, you'll find me skiing, watching volleyball, cooking, or traveling with family and friends.
