3X Mama · 5X exited founder · Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) · Specialist in driving companies from zero to $50M+ in revenue with a goal to exit · $75M+ raised · $1B in net new revenue driven · 20+ years as a builder and operator · M&A nerd · Professional Exit Wingwoman · Semi-professional birth doula, amateur cattle rancher, blue-ribbon baker · San Diego to Lake Tahoe gal
.Who I am. I sold my first company at 29. It was doing over a million in revenue, I owned half of it, and I walked away with a check for $50,000. I called my parents and told them I was rich. I was not rich. I had spent years becoming an expert on my company and roughly 45 minutes learning how to sell one, and then I sat down across the table from someone who did this forty times a year.
A few years later I sold my second company at a $25 million valuation. Same founder, same brain, dramatically better preparation. Five exits and $75 million raised later, plus a few failures I'd describe as spectacular, I've been on both sides of that table. The gap between those first two deals is the entire reason The Northbound Company exists.
What I run. An exit planning and value acceleration firm working primarily with women-owned and women-led businesses. The mission is to help them build it and then bank it. Most owners are experts on their company and beginners at selling one, and that gap is our specialty. We assess what a company is actually worth, build the plan to raise that number, and prepare both the business and the owner for a sale that closes.
What I actually do. Clients come to us twelve to eighteen months before their company is ready to go to market, sometimes years. We start with what the owner actually wants, what she needs personally and financially, what the company is worth today, and what it will take to get from where it is to where it needs to go. Then we build the playbook with her leadership team and play quarterback: calling the plays, pulling in the right people, and driving it all the way to the touchdown. We don't hand anyone a binder and wish them luck. We're on the field taking the hits with them.
When owners come to us, and when professionals send them:
- An owner needs a real, market-based valuation of what the business is worth, not a number someone made up in the shower
- Exit conversations are starting and nobody in the room has done this before
- The business is worth less than it should be, and someone needs to close that gap
- A deal is coming and the financials, data room, and narrative are not remotely ready
- The founder herself isn't ready, which is the thing most likely to stall the deal
