It’s time to put theory into action. In this interactive session, participants will apply the concepts from earlier meetings—initiating value-focused conversations, exploring the three legs of the stool, and collaborating across advisory disciplines—through real-world simulations. By practicing live owner conversations, advisors will refine their questioning techniques, learn how to guide owners toward clarity and readiness, and gain confidence in leading value acceleration discussions that open the door to meaningful engagement.
Learning Objectives:
1. Practice initiating and guiding value-based conversations with owners.
2. Strengthen collaboration skills across disciplines through realistic scenarios.
3. Build confidence in using exit planning language that drives owner action.

Financial Advisors

Exit planning brings this future mindset into the present. Exit is now.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Donna D. Shin, MBA, CFP®, CEPA®
Donna Shin is a strategy-driven and relationship-oriented financial professional with more than 15 years of experience across wirehouses, RIAs, and multi-family offices. She is passionate about helping business owners and families navigate complex financial decisions—particularly those surrounding retirement, estate, tax, and exit planning—to achieve lasting financial peace of mind. No matter how intricate a client’s financial picture may be, Donna collaborates closely with them to craft personalized, actionable strategies that align with their goals and values. At the heart of her approach is a deep commitment to human connection and an appreciation for behavioral psychology, which enable her to uncover the intentions, motivations, and aspirations behind every financial plan.
Donna currently sits on the Board of the Chicago Chapter of Exit Planning Institute (EPI). Her deep appreciation for exit planning is rooted in personal experience. After losing her father at a young age, she watched her mother step into the business world for the first time by taking over my father's business. And while the business provided a comfortable lifestyle, the absence of proper guidance and planning meant her mother ultimately gave up the business without realizing its full enterprise value. That experience inspired Donna to dedicate her career to helping business owners and families like hers plan for financial freedom and preserve the legacies they’ve built.
In her previous roles, Donna managed investment strategies, led comprehensive financial planning initiatives, advised next-generation clients, and guided business owners through the exit planning process. She holds the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation and the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation, and earned dual BBA and MBA degrees from Loyola University Chicago in Marketing and International Business, with a concentration in Finance.
