BRENT DREVER
How did I get here? It’s been quite a journey—three decades of navigating leadership in all its forms. From working in some of the world’s largest and most dynamic organizations to rolling up my sleeves in small companies and startups, I’ve gained a wealth of experience. These diverse opportunities, spanning from the boardroom to the ground floor, have shaped my perspective on leadership, adaptability, and the importance of meaningful connections.
Throughout my career, I’ve held executive leadership roles in multinational enterprises, entrepreneurial ventures—including co-founding five companies (still catching my breath!)—and non-profit organizations. I’ve led and collaborated with entrepreneurs, leadership teams, and boards to guide critical decisions, develop high-performing teams, and deliver impactful results. I even had the rare opportunity to help take a company public. Together, these experiences have given me a front-row seat to the challenges and opportunities leaders encounter every day and continue to influence how I help others grow and succeed.
Building on these experiences, I now focus on helping others navigate pivotal transitions and create lasting value. As the Managing Partner of Exit Pathways (https://exitpathways.com/), a premier business exit advisory firm, I guide mid-market business owners through the complexities of selling their companies with clarity and insight. My journey also inspired me to create Rivr Notes (https://onrivr.com/rivr-notes/), a weekly newsletter offering practical leadership insights tailored for leaders tackling everyday challenges.
Striving for balance is how I stay grounded and focused, and for me, that often means immersing myself in the outdoors. Whether skiing, fly fishing, trail running, or pursuing my next adventure, the wilderness is where I recharge and reflect. These moments remind me of the power of adaptability and resilience—qualities that have shaped my leadership path and that I hope to inspire in others.
