Talent. Why is it so important and crucial? When talent is known, understood, and used properly, it enhances the Human Condition.
The Human Condition is compromised when we don’t know how a person thinks, how a person feels, and how they act. Talent is the pre-wired condition we have at birth. Our talent threads are woven together pre-birth and this process lasts until we are about 16 years old.
These threads weave themselves into 3 components of behavior; how we think, feel, and how we act. Skill is the foundation of a Performance; without it we struggle to perform consistently. Behavior (T, F, A) is the foundation of Skill, while Talent is the foundation of all the above.
If you are involved in any capacity that deals with the Exit Planning Institute, you are in the people business! The journey of exiting a company is all about understanding the Human Condition. You, and any other person helping the exit process, needs to know their talents, the person who is exiting and everyone around that person, needs to know each other’s talents. Your accelerator model is about a process to create a competent exit, but your real job is helping all the people involved in it align their Thinking (T), Feelings/Emotions (F), and Actions (A).
Dr. Russell has created an instrument (Winning Profile) that can not only measure a person’s Talents, but also has a Coaching process that teaches everyone how to implement it.
In this session, Dr. Russell will explain how this process enhances the Human Condition.
Performance (P) = Talent (T) + Knowledge (K) + Skill (S)
Learning Objectives:
- What really is TALENT?
- Why are we making so many mistakes? We have been looking in from the wrong end of the telescope.
- Where does neurology fit into the discussion?
- If we can’t measure it, we can’t manage it! Good news is that now we can!
- Is it possible to change a person’s behavior? The answer is NO, but we do know now how to rearrange a person’s talent themes so that a change in one’s performance does occur.

Gary has been studying human behavior his entire life, alongside raising four children and creating programs for millions with the NFL, MLS, England's Football Association, Jack Nicklaus (Golden Bear), and Boys Scouts USA. After years of research, trial and error, and working with world-class athletes and executives from billion dollar corporations, Gary's original work in activation, teaching, and coaching has led him to creating Winning Profile, a way to triangulate a person's Thinking, Feeling, and Actions accurately measure talent, discover its origins, and determine how to replicate it. In other words, a way to see and describe the best in people and the Human Condition to put them in a position to be their best.
Helping others reach beyond their own vision of capability is Gary's definition of WINNING. As he says, "I might not be able to pick who is going to win, but I can tell you who wants to."
