Jan. 1, 2026 could cost millions. The lifetime estate tax exemption is set to fall about in half, from about $14,000,000 to $7,000,000 per person, or double that per couple. The exemption is “use it or lose it.” But 2/3rds of aren’t using it, because they don’t know what to do. Advisors can save their clients millions, and add millions to their own AUM.
