ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Meet Mark Russell:
Mark is head of the finance group at SES ESOP Strategies, a Stevens & Lee Company, and a Senior Managing Director at Griffin Financial Group where he works with clients and their principals, providing M&A advisory services and private placements of debt and capital. He works extensively with business owners, evaluating their business and personal situations and assisting in preparing for succession of or exit from their businesses by performing an exhaustive analysis of alternatives (including management buyouts, ESOPs, recapitalizations, and minority or majority sales of the business) to ensure business owners have all of the information necessary to decide the best path to achieve their goals. Finally, he assists business owners in optimizing the strategies designed to achieve the desired outcome.
As a non-practicing CPA and a lawyer, Mark’s background provides an important link between clients and their accountants and lawyers to creatively address accounting, tax and financial planning issues.
Mark is a former National Tax-Product Development Manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for conceiving creative corporate tax planning strategies and analyzing publicly available information to determine the applicability of those strategies. He was also responsible for implementing large projects and coordinating project teams and corporate personnel.
Mark is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®). He holds Series 79, 7 and 66 licenses from FINRA.
Meet Daniel Boarder:
Daniel Boarder’s experience includes assisting private equity firms and corporate buyers in evaluating potential company merger and acquisition targets. Additionally, Daniel has managed hundreds of engagements with transaction values ranging from less than $1 million to more than $1 billion.
Daniel also provides evaluations of post-transaction matters such as working capital analysis and related negotiations.
Meet Chuck Sharpe:
Chuck established Sharpe Law Group in 2003 after six years in the Personal Financial Counseling group at Ernst & Young. Since graduating law school, his focus has been providing traditional estate planning and sophisticated wealth planning strategies to the high net worth and ultra-high net worth community. Chuck’s client base includes high net worth individuals and families, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives with diverse estate planning, estate tax and asset protection needs. Having originally practiced as part of the financial advisory community and in public accounting, Chuck combines his legal experience, financial planning expertise and tax knowledge to provide clients with coordinated and innovative approaches to estate planning, wealth transfer planning and asset protection, while reducing their exposure to estate taxes and income taxes.
Chuck’s approach to estate planning has always been to coordinate with a client’s financial advisors, accountants, life insurance professionals and family attorneys to provide them with holistic estate planning strategies. He also works with Trustees and Executors to provide advice and support for the proper and efficient administration of trusts and estates.
Chuck is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a regular presenter to the financial planning sector regarding estate planning and the coordination with financial plans. Prior to entering law school, Chuck practiced as a CPA in Oklahoma at KPMG. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University (1992) and the University of Oklahoma College of Law (1997) and is a member of the Texas and Oklahoma Bars.
