SCALING BEYOND THE PLATEAU: OVERCOMING THE MOST COMMON OBSTACLES TO BUSINESS ADVANCEMENT
In the presentation, Jeff will share the top five reasons why businesses hit a growth plateau. Jeff will describe the scenario surrounding each reason and share how he has counseled leaders to overcome these challenges. It's been his experience that when CEOs and business owners reach this plateau, they find themselves out of options. What worked before, no longer works. Their employees are only aware of the decisions they make, not the options they had. Jeff will create awareness of better options to overcome the challenges they are likely facing on some level today.
Learning Objectives:
1. Transition from Reactive to Proactive Management: I will emphasize the importance of moving away from "firefighting" (constant crisis management) and towards strategic, proactive planning (appreciative inquiry). Leaders must build robust systems and strategies to prevent problems rather than just reacting to them.
2. Establish Clear Accountability and Empowered Decision-Making: I will address the "accountability abyss" and "decision-making deadlock." Leaders must define clear roles, create performance benchmarks, and delegate authority. Teams must be empowered to make decisions, reduce bottlenecks, and foster ownership.
3. Focus on Root Cause Analysis for Sustainable Solutions: The "symptom trap" underscores the importance of identifying and addressing the underlying causes of problems, rather than just treating surface-level symptoms. Leaders must establish a methodical approach to problem-solving, leading to lasting improvements and preventing the recurrence of costly mistakes (again, appreciative inquiry).
