JEB JARRELL

Over the last fifteen years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on nearly a dozen nonprofit boards, including time as board chairman of the Kentucky FarmHouse Alumni Association and currently as treasurer for St. John Center in Louisville. These roles gave me a front-row seat to the challenges nonprofits face in balancing mission and money. Too often, well-intentioned board members are handed investment responsibilities without the tools, context, or education they need to feel confident in their oversight.
Before founding Plentiful Wealth, I worked at large firms like Merrill Lynch and Ameriprise. Those experiences taught me what I wanted—and what I didn’t want—in a financial advisory firm. At the big shops, clients could feel like numbers in a spreadsheet. I once managed more than 200 relationships at once, which left little room for the kind of deep, thoughtful planning that clients deserve.
Plentiful Wealth was built as a different kind of partner: one that integrates investment management with education and nonprofit-focused services to create clarity, not complexity. For nonprofits, this means more than comparing fund lineups—it means aligning investment policies with UPMIFA standards, structuring portfolios to support sustainable spending, and ensuring governance processes are as strong as the organizations they serve.
Choosing a better mutual fund is nearly impossible, but meaningful improvements can come from minimizing fees, smarter allocation strategies, thoughtful spending policies, and board education. That’s where we focus. We cap the number of relationships we accept so we can spend the time needed to dig deep into each situation, ensuring our clients—nonprofits and families alike—are well-served without overextension.
We don’t work with everyone. We work with organizations where we know we can provide real value—nonprofits that want to strengthen their governance, deepen their investment expertise, and ultimately steward their resources more effectively for the missions they serve.
